Bharti Singh, an Indian stage comedian originally from Amritsar, Punjab has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after hours of questioning. The NCB conducted the search and questioning as part of the ongoing probe into alleged drug use in the entertainment industry.
Small quantity of cannabis has also been recovered from her place.
“A small quantity of cannabis was recovered from her place,” the official said. “Singh’s name had cropped up during the interrogation of a drug peddler,” he said. The agency also carried out searches at two other locations in the metropolis, the official added.
